5 Epic Photography Locations in Raglan

It’s no secret that Raglan has a lot of natural beauty to offer. From rugged waves on breezy beaches, to sunswept hillsides. Beautiful backdrops are plentiful here in little ol’ Raglan. Here’s a taste of my fave photography locations around Raglan. Read on to get an idea of what your photos could look like if you book a photoshoot with me in one of these spots.

Behind the Skatepark

It sounds like the sort of place a dodgy deal might go down, but behind the Raglan skatepark is an epic spot for some photos. There are tufty dunes, pink skies, water, a stunning mountain backdrop and in summer that cute bunny tail grass makes an appearance. This spot also provides the perfect opportunity for some silhouettes. There is so much on offer, so I’ll meet you behind the skatepark for some great shots.

Ngarunui Beach

This beach has a classic west coast feel. With its scattered rocks, raging waves, and phenomenal sunsets, this place is wild and rugged in the very best of ways.

Clifftop

On those midsummer evenings when the grass is dry and the wind is calm, you can’t really beat the dreamy feels of a Raglan cliffside shoot high above the beach.

The Pine Forest

The hike up the hill to the pine forest is totally worth it. This is one of those magic spots where pretty much any time of day is good for a photoshoot. The colours are soft, the bokeh is plentiful, and kids love a good run around a forest.

Your Place

For something totally unique, and extra meaningful, a shoot in your own little slice of Raglan is just the ticket. These photos were all taken in a variety of “back yards” in or around Raglan. I love a good driveway lined with trees, or a bunch of rolling hills, but even a photo at your front door can be epic.
